Duncan Holmes, Partner
Duncan is the Partner in charge of our Family Law Division and is one of Sydney's senior and most experienced Family Law practitioners.
Having practised in family law with Slade Manwaring for over 23 years, Duncan was one of the first solicitors in New South Wales to become an Accredited Specialist in Family Law.
Duncan conducts a broad practice, dealing with a range of family law issues including financial settlements in matrimonial matters and also in de-facto relationship matters, children's cases such as residence and parenting issues, inter-state and international relocation of children, divorce, pre-nuptial agreements, separation agreements and child support cases.
In 1993 he was appointed a member (as the Law Society's Nominee) of the Legal Aid Review Committee in Family Law, pursuant to the Legal Aid Commission Act 1979 (NSW) and continues to be a member of that committee.
Duncan also acts as a court ordered Independent Children’s Lawyer for children in difficult and complex parenting cases and he has done so continuously for over 10 years.
Duncan is the author of two books in the Lexis Nexis Students Companion Series, one being Family Law, which is now in 4th edition, the other being Torts, which is now in its 6th edition.
